Call the API with the unique ID for a particular travel guide.  The response provides detail about the selected guide, including metadata and a list of POIs as chosen by the travel guide author.

The unique identifier for a given travel guide.

guide_title string The name of the travel guide.
publish_date date The date when the travel guide was published.
guide_audience string The intended target audience of the travel guide. Valid values are: Everyone, Solo, Friends, Couples, Senior, Family.
traveler_type array The type of traveler that the travel guide creator believes their guide is suited for. Can be one or more of the following values: History Buff, Thrill Seeker, Shopping Fanatic, Art and Architecture Lover, Nightlife Seeker, Nature Lover, Foodie, Peace and Quiet seeker, LGBT, Beach Goer, Luxury Traveler, Thrifty Traveler, Trendsetter, Like a Local.
guide_description string A description of the travel guide, as written by the author.
guide_tips array The guide author’s tips about the city in general. There can be several tips per guide.
guide_url URL The URL of the Travel Guide (i.e. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Guide-g60745-k167-Boston_Massachusetts.html).
geo_location_id string The unique TripAdvisor ID for the destination (i.e., 60745 is the geo_id for Boston, Massachusetts).
geo_location_name string The name of the destination.
guide_poi array A list of all POIs for the selected travel guide and their associated details.
poi_name string The name of the POI.
day string The day in the itinerary for which the specified POI is recommended. Only applicable to when guide_type = 3_day.
poi_photos array

Information about the POI’s images. There are 3 images available, each with 1 or more sizes. Each size map has the URL of a photo and its width and height. The size map key names are “thumbnail”, “small”, “medium”, “large” and "original"

poi_recommendation string

A brief description about why a given POI is important, from the perspective of the guide author.

poi_tips array

The guide author’s tips about the POI. There can be several per POI.

traveler_type array

The type of traveler that the travel guide creator believes a given POI is suited for. Can be one or more of the following values: History Buff, Thrill Seeker, Shopping Fanatic, Art and Architecture Lover, Nightlife Seeker, Nature Lover, Foodie, Peace and Quiet seeker, LGBT, Beach Goer, Luxury Traveler, Thrifty Traveler, Trendsetter, Like a Local.

visit_length string

The recommended duration of visit for the POI. Can be one of the following values: less than 1 hour, 1-2 hours, 2-3 hours, more than 3 hours.

location object

Information about the POI, that is not specific to the travel guide.

poi_description string

A description of the POI.

see_all_photos URL

Link to open all traveler photos posted for this POI in a photo viewer on TripAdvisor. Link will be localized to the correct domain if language other than English is requested.

web_url URL

Link to the POI detail page on TripAdvisor. Link will be localized to the correct domain if a language other than English is requested.

rating number

Overall rating for this POI. Not applicable to geographic locations. Rating levels are defined as follows:

location_string string

Destination location for the POI. Most commonly written as city, state or city, province/region. In cases where state/province/region is not relevant, then it would be city, country. This string is localized if a language other than English is requested.

ancestors object

Ancestors describe where the POI or destination lives within the TripAdvisor destination or geo hierarchy. From this, you can derive the city where a POI is located, as well as state/province/region and country.

location_web_url URL

Link to the destination (/Tourism) page on TripAdvisor. Link will be localized to the correct domain if a language other than English is requested.

api_detail_url URL

Link to the API url that shows reviews for a given POI.
