What Tripadvisor content is available via widgets?

Tripadvisor widgets provide an easy way for you to integrate fresh Tripadvisor content about your property by simply inserting a URL into an iframe on your website. Widgets are available with the following content:

  • Review and Rating widgets for a specific point of interest (accommodation, attraction, restaurant):
    • Overall Bubble Rating
    • Ranking (e.g. # 6 of 77 Hotels in Boston)
    • Sub-Ratings (e.g. Location, Value, Service, Cleanliness…)
    • Photos
    • Review Snippets and links
    • Number of Reviews
    • Awards (e.g. Travelers’ Choice, Certificate of Excellence, Green Leaders)
    • Jointly Collected Review Attribution (for partners using our review collection services)
  • Lists featuring top or nearby points of interest
  • Travelers’ Choice Winners for a given location (e.g. London)
  • Search for a hotel:  Find a hotel in a specific location, check rates, compare prices

Can we use more than one widget at a time?

Yes, some of our products may be linked together as part of your configuration.  Summary and Rating widgets, which include limited detail about the property, such as overall rating and ranking, maybe be linked to our Property Detail widget for a detailed overview of the location and its recent reviews, rather than linking back to Tripadvisor for this information. Our Best Of and Nearby widgets, which include a list of relevant POIs, can also link to the Property Detail widget for each location listed. Speak to your Account Manager for details.

How are widgets configured?

Licensed widgets are configured in two ways:

  • Options that are set for you in a partner configuration file by Tripadvisor
  • Options that can be specified via URL parameters for each widget call

Configuration file options apply to all of the invocations of the widget and consist of settings that enable the features contractually agreed upon for your widget. URL parameters apply only to one particular widget invocation, and consist of settings such as the property ID for which to retrieve content, and the language in which to display the widget.

How do I get access to licensed widgets?

Your Account Manager needs to process your request before you can access a widget.

Which widgets are HTTPS Supported?

All licensed widgets are https supported.

Do you have Mobile-Optimized products?

The Property Detail Widget and RCP Widget provide mobile optimization options. You may detect a mobile device or force display the mobile version of the widgets.
